On Thursday 19 June, in the heart of Vegueta, we experienced a truly special evening at Suites1478. We had the privilege of welcoming Daniel Fernández Boissier, one of the architects who actively participated in the restoration of our building – a heritage gem full of soul and history. His presence not only brought light to our space, but also gave our guests a unique opportunity to discover, from the inside, the process that transformed a historic manor house into the hotel museum we proudly share with the world today.
Through his words, we were taken on a journey through the challenges, decisions and emotions that shaped the renovation of this unique building, originally conceived by visionary architect Miguel Martín-Fernández de la Torre. The restoration was not merely a technical endeavour – it was an act of profound respect for history, art, and the spirit of Canarian architecture.
The walls spoke, old images came to life, and every detail of the project — from the integration of artworks to the preservation of original elements — revealed the love with which every corner was conceived. It was deeply moving to feel how, through Daniel’s story, the building was brought back to life before our eyes.
At Suites1478, we would like to thank all those who shared this moment with us. Thank you for filling every minute of the encounter with curiosity, sensitivity and appreciation. Events like this reinforce our hotel’s cultural vocation and nourish the bond between our guests and the living history of this house.
We will continue to create spaces where art, architecture and emotion meet. Because at Suites1478, every stay is more than a journey – it is an experience that connects past and present through the senses.
